Advocacy doesn’t begin on Capitol Hill — it begins with confidence, clarity, and connection.

The redesigned WDMA Advocacy Summit is an immersive, two-day experience that brings industry leaders together to learn, practice, and engage on the policy issues shaping manufacturing, housing, and the built environment.

Whether you’re new to advocacy or a seasoned participant, the Summit is designed to meet you where you are — and move you forward.

What You’ll Experience

Advocacy Afternoon
Kick off the Summit with an interactive, hands-on program focused on storytelling, persuasion, and real-world advocacy skills. Learn what policymakers actually need, practice effective conversations in a supportive setting, and leave with clear talking points you can use immediately.

A Celebration of Excellence in Advocacy
Join your peers for a special reception and dinner honoring leaders who have advanced the industry through advocacy. This year, WDMA will proudly unveil the Michael O’Brien Award for Excellence in Advocacy, recognizing a legacy of leadership that helped define the industry’s voice in Washington. Guests will also hear from nationally recognized political analyst David Wasserman of The Cook Political Report.

A Day on the Hill
Put your preparation into action with pre-scheduled meetings on Capitol Hill. Engage directly with lawmakers and staff, share your story, and help shape the conversations that influence policy. The day concludes with a peer debrief and a celebratory gathering near the Capitol.
