WDMA Names John Crosby as Next President and CEO

The Window & Door Manufacturers Association announced that John Crosby has been selected as its next President and Chief Executive Officer. Crosby is succeeding Michael O’Brien, who will retire in March 2025.

Crosby is a dedicated association leader, having served in a range of roles and disciplines over his 30-year career. He spent ten years in policy and advocacy roles after working in the U.S. House of Representatives. Since that time, Crosby has remained active in public policy communications roles with several industry associations.

Over the past fifteen years, Crosby became a leader in the construction and design market. He served for eight years as Managing Director of Corporate Partnerships for the American Institute of Architects (AIA), where he transformed the organization’s supplier relations strategy. Crosby’s leadership resulted in more productive relationships with building product manufacturers to support design-centered goals and advocacy objectives.

Prior to his time at AIA, Crosby gained his first exposure to the building products industry with Hanley Wood Media (now Zonda). While leading communications and marketing programs for Hanley Wood, Crosby helped to integrate a full suite of data, marketing and event services for clients while supporting the development of key strategic partnerships.

“We are excited to have John as our next CEO,” said WDMA Board Chair Emily Videtto of Pella Corporation. “The WDMA Search Committee confirmed that John had the right mix of experience, thoughtfulness and insight to make an excellent leader for the association. We are confident that John can advance our advocacy agenda while also growing the association through new member acquisition and the development of new products and services.”

Videtto praised O’Brien for his fifteen years of service to WDMA, noting “we are lucky to have Mike with us until March to support this transition. We are grateful for his many contributions to the success of WDMA during his tenure.”

Crosby will join WDMA on November 18 to begin the leadership transition.
