WDMA Statement on Trump Administration’s Decision to Rescind 10% Tariff on Canadian Aluminum

Posted By Window and Door Manufacturers Association, Wednesday, September 16, 2020

[Washington, D.C.] Today, the Window and Door Manufacturers Association (WDMA) released the following statement after the Trump Administration announced they were rescinding the 10% tariff on non-alloyed unwrought aluminum from Canada:

“WDMA is pleased that the Trump Administration listened to the concerns of manufacturers and rescinded the tariff on Canadian aluminum,” said WDMA President & CEO Michael O’Brien. “It is imperative that the Administration continue to honor its 2019 trade agreement with Canada and reject any further tariffs on North American steel and aluminum. These tariffs can create uncertainty in the market and negatively impact the relationships with our long-standing trade partners.  WDMA urges the Administration to provide fairness and stability to trade policy moving forward.”
