Over the past few years, we have seen Congress and the White House clash over a range of issues from labor to taxes to the environment. The 2016 elections shook up Washington and 2017 will be a year packed with action on Capitol Hill and at the federal agencies. Call for Session Proposals: WDMA Technical & Manufacturing Conference
The WDMA Technical & Manufacturing Conference will be held at the Marquette Hotel in Minneapolis, MN from Tuesday, June 6 to Thursday, June 8, 2017. The program runs over two and a half days, including the first day of WDMA committee activities, and additional informative technical sessions over the remainder of the schedule. This is the opportunity to report on current industry research, trends in manufacturing processes and procedures, and emerging product technologies.

WDMA Releases 2017 National Policy Agenda
The Window & Door Manufacturers Association (WDMA) released today a comprehensive advocacy agenda for 2017, which outlines important policy priorities for the window, door, and skylight industry that will boost the housing and construction industry and support continued job creation in the vital U.S. manufacturing sector.
"Window, door and skylight manufacturers are vital to the residential housing sector and a robust economy. Washington has the opportunity to advance pro-growth policies that will spur job creation and mitigate the effects of costly regulations that unnecessarily burden manufacturers," said WDMA Chair Al Babiuk, CEO of Loewen Windows. "This document will guide policymakers to support policies that promote energy efficiency, eliminate unnecessary regulations, and achieve smart tax policy that spurs economic growth for 2017 and beyond."

Roo Glue Joins WDMA
The Window and Door Manufacturers Association (WDMA) announced today that Roo Glue is the newest member of the association.Roo Glue is a dynamic, family-owned manufacturer of water-based adhesives and polymers. For more than 45 years they have been on the forefront of developing innovative polymer solutions, including the latest water-based adhesive technologies.

Fortress Door Joins WDMA
The Window and Door Manufacturers Association (WDMA) is proud to announce that Fortress Door is the newest member of the association. Fortress Door Co. was formed in April 2016 and is based in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The Fortress plant manufactures and pre-finishes commercial and residential doors sold to door companies, construction companies and building materials dealers.

NWDA to Merge Operations with WDMA
The Northeast Window & Door Association (NWDA) has agreed to merge operations with the Window & Door Manufacturers Association (WDMA), with the members of NWDA becoming members of the newly formed WDMA-Northeast. Under the new structure, WDMA-Northeast members will continue to receive the same benefits as they did with NWDA, including regular regional meetings, as well as certain services from WDMA, such as legislative, regulatory and code representation, issue briefs and alerts, access to technical experts and participation in WDMA conferences.
"WDMA is excited that NWDA will be joined with WDMA to better serve window, door and skylight manufacturers and their suppliers," said Al Babiuk, WDMA Chairman and CEO of Loewen Windows. "By merging associations we will have a stronger voice to promote, protect and advance the interests of the industry at the national level and in the Northeast."

Announces New Portal to Speed Evaluation Reports of WDMA Hallmark Certified
Products to Texas Department of Insurance
[Chicago, IL] - The Window & Door Manufacturers Association
(WDMA) will release next month the third phase of the WDMA Hallmark
Certification Programs Client Information Portal (CIP) to facilitate an
electronic method to submit and process an application for a Texas Department
of Insurance (TDI) Evaluation Report. This system, which is available to
any manufacturers certifying products under the WDMA Hallmark Program, should
help shorten the time it takes TDI to produce an evaluation report. Read more.
