Forest Stewardship Council (FSC): System Update and Policy Initiatives

FSC continues to expand its market reach in the US and around the world. More than 380 million acres of forest are certified under FSC’s system, including more than 150 million acres in the US and Canada, and 30,000 companies are certified to the FSC Chain of Custody (CoC) Standard. To streamline CoC requirements, incorporate the results of recent pilot projects, and include direction given by its General Assembly, FSC has been in the process of revising the Chain of Custody Standard (FSC-STD-40-004) over the past two years. This session will discuss the implications of the updates to this standard, as well as plans to revise the FSC US Forest Management Standard and complete a US National Risk Assessment for Controlled Wood. FSC staff will also share progress on national marketing and business development initiatives.

Requirements for architectural doors are constantly evolving.  Hear from those on the front lines about how changes to the International Building Code (IBC) and International Green Construction Code (IgCC), NFPA 80, UL test methods, proposed federal formaldehyde regulations, AWI standards initiative, and other regulatory, codes and standards bodies will be affecting architectural doors.
