Field Installation of Fire Glass Under Label Service: How do Manufacturers and Distributors Prepare?

NFPA 80 Requires glazing materials in vision panels to be, “… installed in accordance with inspection service procedures and under label service.” This means that the installer of fire glass in fire doors must be either the manufacturer or a party authorized to apply fire labels under the manufacturers machining listings. It is becoming more common for purchase orders to request fire doors without glazing with the expectation that this will be done in the field. What happens when doors ship to a job site? This program will discuss the challenges placed on manufacturers those faced by door distributors who must change how they bid and furnish product so as to preserve fire label integrity.
